    Description

    A classic piece of mid-century modern design from
    KPM-Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur
    in Berlin.
    The form was created by the artist/potter Hubert Griemert in 1962, the wide cobalt blue banded decoration was an addition by decorator Charlotte-Luise Koch and their collaboration on this piece won KPM an IF Design Award in 1967. Officially, I believe, the piece was marketed as part of KPM's Crocus (Krokus) porcelain china pattern, but it is more often referred to as the Spindle Vase (Spindelvase).
    It measures 6 1/2 inches in height by 5 inches in diameter, the proportions and decoration give it a great deal of presence. Vase is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Superb example.
